UlanqabTH8155 Oxygen Index Tester

The TH8155 Oxygen Index Tester is used to determine the volume percentage of oxygen required for a polymer to sustain combustion, thereby assessing the material’s ease of ignition and flame spread in air. It is suitable for evaluating the combustion performance of materials such as wood, plastics, rubber, fibers, and foam plastics. The oxygen index of a polymer is defined as the minimum volume concentration of oxygen in an oxygen–nitrogen mixture that allows the material to maintain combustion over a distance of 50 mm or for a duration of 3 minutes after ignition. This method provides accurate, highly reproducible measurements of polymer flammability, with results expressed as a numerical value. The instrument is designed in accordance with the GB/T 2406 standard “Plastics — Determination of the Oxygen Index.” It also complies with JIS K 7201, BS 2782, ANSI/ASTM D2863, ISO 4589, and GB/T 2406 standards.

Product Description

The TH8155 Oxygen Index Tester is used to determine the volume percentage of oxygen required for a polymer to sustain combustion, thereby assessing the material’s flammability when exposed to flame in air. The oxygen index of a polymer is defined as the minimum volume percentage of oxygen in an oxygen–nitrogen mixture that allows the material to maintain combustion for a distance of 50 mm or for a duration of 3 minutes after ignition.
