TH8058B High-Voltage Electrical Tracking Index Tester / High-Voltage Tracking and Erosion Tester

This instrument is suitable for testing the tracking and erosion resistance of electrical and electronic products, household appliances, and their materials. It simulates, under power-frequency conditions (48 Hz to 62 Hz), the effects of liquid contaminants on inclined test specimens, enabling the assessment—through measurement of tracking and erosion—of the tracking and erosion resistance rating of electrical insulating materials used in harsh environmental conditions. This equipment is designed and manufactured in strict accordance with GB/T 6553-2003 and IEC 60587-1984.

Product Description

I. Applications

II. Performance Specifications
1. Number of experimental groups: five;
2. Electrodes: 0.5 mm thick, made of 304 stainless steel; distance between the upper and lower electrodes: 50.0 mm ± 0.1.
3. Test voltage: 100 V–6000 V, continuously adjustable;
4. Voltage stability: ±1%;
5. Voltage regulator: Output range: 0–250 V, adjustable; rated capacity: 5 kVA.
6. Test transformer: rated capacity 5 kVA, maximum output voltage AC 6000 V;
7. Output voltage: AC;
8. High-precision voltage regulator: Output AC 220 V, power rating 6000 W, with an accuracy of ±1%.
9. During the test, if the high‑voltage circuit current reaches or exceeds 60 mA and persists for 2 seconds, the relay will trip, cutting off the current, and the buzzer will sound an alarm indicating that the test specimen is non‑conforming. At this point, pressing the “Voltage Stop” button will silence the alarm.
10. Tracking Test: According to the requirements of GB/T 6553-2003, Clause 4.1.2, a voltage of 2.5 kV, 3.5 kV, or 4.5 kV is applied to the test specimen, and a contaminant solution is dripped onto it at a specified flow rate. If the current remains below 60 mA for a continuous period of 6 hours without exceeding this threshold, the test is considered passed.
11. Test duration: 6 hours;
12. Drip interval time: The test duration is user‑programmable and continuously adjustable within the range of 0 to 99.99 seconds, minutes, or hours.
13. Liquid Dispensing Unit: A high-precision dispensing unit with adjustable height, equipped with a Rheon precision peristaltic pump. The flow rate ranges from 0.00185 to 20 mL/min, with an operating speed of 0.1 to 50 rpm. Flow accuracy error: <0.5%.
14. Test solution: A mixture of ammonium chloride, isooctyl phenoxy polyethoxy ethanol, and a nonionic wetting agent, prepared with distilled or deionized water. The resistivity of the contaminant solution at (23 ± 1)°C shall be (3.95 ± 0.05) Ω·m.
15. Filter paper dimensions: Manufactured in accordance with standard specifications, with a thickness of 0.15–0.17 mm.
16. Chassis: Made of SUS304 stainless steel with a brushed finish;
17. The wastewater tank is made of 316 stainless steel and is equipped with a sealed enclosure.
18. Chamber dimensions: 900 mm (L) × 650 mm (W) × 950 mm (H); volume: 0.56 m³.
19. Instrument external dimensions: 1300L × 700W × 1800H (mm);
20. Control System: Employs a PLC combined with a Weintek touch screen from Taiwan, offering precise control and simple operation. The design is fully user‑friendly, and upon completion of the test, a report is automatically generated. A thermal panel printer can print the test results in real time.
21. Equipment Structure:
1) The instrument features an integrated structural design, with the control panel located on the right side of the test chamber.
2) The work area is equipped with a door featuring a glass viewing window, allowing continuous observation of the test process during experimentation.
3) A exhaust fan is installed at the top; after the test is completed, the exhaust system is activated to vent the waste gases outdoors.
